Attitude is paramount / La actitud es primordial (eng-esp)

Since I started studying guitar, I've been taught that the attitude I bring to a public performance can determine the course and outcome of a concert. However, this same advice applies to life. A positive attitude can be crucial for a positive life.

I've found that your attitude is the filter through which you experience any situation. It's not magic, but a tool for focus.

For example, before a job or a workday, if you wake up thinking it will be a bad day, that everything will be difficult, your mind will try to confirm that idea. You'll notice every problem, you'll get frustrated easily, and your energy will be low.

The day will indeed be unproductive.

On the other hand, if you consciously decide to give your best and make it a good day, everything changes. It's not that the problems disappear, but your attitude toward them is different. You become more proactive, more resilient. The day itself becomes more manageable and productive.

The same applies to studying. If you sit down with a book thinking, "This is too difficult, I'm not going to understand it," you're already defeated.

Your mind shuts down, your concentration scatters, and you give up at the first obstacle.

But if you adopt the attitude of "I can do it, I'm going to understand it," you mobilize all your resources. You push yourself harder, look for alternatives, and ask questions. You give it your all, and the learning process, however tough, becomes beneficial.

Of course, this doesn't guarantee you'll know everything, but it does guarantee you'll make the most of the opportunity.

For any important task, your attitude must be one of confidence. If you're going to do a job, you must believe you're capable, that you're going to succeed.

Going in with fear or a feeling of defeat is a burden. It makes you hesitate, doubt your decisions, and not fully commit.

When you're confident, you launch yourself decisively. That doesn't eliminate mistakes, but it gives you the clarity to correct them as you go.

I understand that a good attitude isn't a magic wand. It doesn't guarantee ultimate success, because that depends on many factors, including your actual effort.

But what it does guarantee one hundred percent is that you're going to give it your best. You put all your ability on the table. And when you do that, the odds of a good result increase dramatically in your favor.

Your attitude is the director of your own energy. You can direct it toward sabotage or toward productive effort. I choose the latter.

Desde que comencé a estudiar guitarra me enseñaron que la actitud con la que me presento en público, puede decidir el curso y el resultado del concierto. Sin embargo, este mismo consejo se aplica a la vida. La actitud positiva puede ser determinante para tener una vida positiva.

He comprobado que tu actitud es el filtro a través del cual vives cualquier situación. No es magia, sino una herramienta de enfoque.
Por ejemplo, ante un trabajo o una jornada laboral, si te levantas pensando que será un mal día, que todo será pesado, tu mente buscará confirmar esa idea. Notarás cada inconveniente, te frustrarás fácilmente y tu energía será baja.
El día efectivamente será poco provechoso.
En cambio, si decides, conscientemente, que vas a dar lo mejor de ti y que será un buen día, cambia todo. No es que los problemas desaparezcan, sino que tu disposición para enfrentarlos es distinta. Te vuelves más proactiva, más resiliente. El mismo día se vuelve más llevadero y productivo.

Lo mismo aplica al estudio. Si te sientas con un libro pensando “esto es muy difícil, no lo voy a entender”, ya estás derrotada.
Tu mente se cierra, tu concentración se dispersa y abandonas ante el primer obstáculo.
Pero si adoptas la actitud de “puedo hacerlo, voy a entenderlo”, movilizas todos tus recursos. Te esfuerzas más, buscas alternativas, preguntas. Das lo mejor de ti, y el proceso de aprendizaje, aunque sea duro, se vuelve beneficioso.
Por supuesto, esto no garantiza que lo sabrás todo, pero garantiza que aprovecharás la oportunidad al máximo.

Para cualquier tarea importante, la actitud debe ser de confianza. Si vas a realizar un trabajo, debes pensar que eres capaz, que vas a triunfar.
Entrar con miedo o con la sensación de derrota es un lastre. Te hace titubear, dudar de tus decisiones y no comprometerte del todo.
Cuando confías, te lanzas con decisión. Eso no elimina los errores, pero te da la claridad para corregirlos sobre la marcha.

Entiendo que una buena actitud no es una varita mágica. No garantiza el éxito final, porque eso depende de muchos factores, incluido tu esfuerzo real.
Pero lo que sí garantiza al cien por ciento es que vas a dar lo mejor de ti. Pones toda tu capacidad sobre la mesa. Y cuando haces eso, las probabilidades de un buen resultado aumentan drásticamente a tu favor.
Tu actitud es la directora de tu propia energía. La puedes dirigir hacia el sabotaje o hacia el esfuerzo productivo. Yo elijo lo segundo.
