Question gone Wrong.

To answer your question @galenkp, I have felt different countless times. As a Nigerian that seek better life, people look down on you at every given opportunity, they size you up to know if there is anything they can achieve through you.

Once they see that you have nothing to offer be it in cash or in any kind the next thing is to treat such person anyhow they like. To be on a safe side, I have learnt to protect my mental health, be on my lane and not interfer in any affair of a new place I get to.

MTN is one of the major service provider we have in this country. Recently, I went to MTN office to retrieve one of my sim cards that got blocked, when I got in the office, the doors were open so I just strolled in. It's a public place and you don't expect me to greet every one I see there right?

I met a Muslim lady sitting behind a table almost behind the door and I approached her about what I needed to get done. She told me what to do and the cost I needed to pay. Her explanation and the price she called fit into my budget so I took a seat.

While I was sitted I filled the form I was given by the lady who I later knew was the receptionist and was waiting for my turn. Finally it got to my turn and I was attended to calmly within twenty five to thirty minutes i was already set to leave the office.

The receptionist lady borrowed me her pen to fill the form the other time and I wanted to make sure I returned it to her in person because she was reluctant before giving it to me but she was not on seat when I was ready to leave.

There was this guy with an unserious look on his face who had been on his phone doing only what God knows since I got to the office, he was sitting by the entrance and visible to the receptionist table so I approached him and said weldone oga, do you work here.

Hell was let loose, he said a lot of things, part of the things he said was that, is it because he was working there as a security that is why I didn't regard him. Did I greet him when I entered there the other time? He was shouting like someone who was ready to cause a scene.

I gently left his front and went back to the table of the lady who retrieved the sim card for me and explained to her that I needed to return the receptionist's pen, she took it, thanked me and I strolled out of the office.

All the while, the security guy was still cursing because I did not greet him that my type does not greet their husband and all that but I didn't say a word to him. His actions got me thinking, I thought about it throughout the time I spent on the way back home then I got the answer I needed.

The man is just another frustrated Nigerian who is looking for someone to take his frustration on or someone to victimize but I wasn't available for such so I jumped and pass.

The funniest part is I never remembered the incident till I came across this post today. In conclusion, an ugly person may be kind and nice or wicked and mean and a beautiful person can be too. It is not about skin type, color, gender, race, nationality or trybe it's about our inner person.
