Odekunle and the lost fan- Finish the take #19.

Good day to you my people, welcome to my blog.

On the hottest day of the year, the town's only fan mysteriously vanished. The fan was a gift gifted to the town by Oloyo the king during the last planting season when our town sent the years tribute.

My town is a small settlement located in the present day Ogun state. This story was relayed to me by my great grandmother. She said in the early years of eighteen century, Oloyo was the most paramount and feared king. What made him to be the most feared king was the strength of his army.

According to her, years before this event of mysterious theft, Oloyo usually complained about the amount of tribute our people sent which usually amount to nothing when compared to what other towns were bringing.

While other towns collected two, three and more fans, our town collected only one which was placed right in the front row of our town’s hall so to keep our Mayor and chiefs cool during town meetings which usually takes place in the town hall every last Friday of the month.

She said to their dismay, that they got to the town hall on the last Friday of the seventh month and could not find it. In an attempt to search for the fan, the town crier was asked to announce around town.

About three hours after the announcement, Odekunle the town hunter brought out the fan and said it was taken by his father who had dementia. Odekunle said his father used a ladder to remove the fan from its original position claiming he bought it when he was living in the United State.

My great grandmother said the fan was collected and reinstalled but this time around, they placed a barricade around it to avoid reoccurrence of such incident.

Thank you for taking your time to read till the end.
