LOH253: Wilderness Survival.

Man survival situation refers to a scenario when an individual must rely on their instincts, skill or individual resourcefulness to survive in a challenging situation.

Examples of such situations may include primitive living like living without basic modern amenities, emergency situations like natural disasters or accidents, or wilderness survival like finding food, building shelters and navigating.

Basic things that may be needed in a survival situations may be finding purified water, starting fire to cook or provide heat, building shelters to house ourselves, hunting for food and moveving with Morden tools.Good day everyone welcome to my blog today.

If I find myself in the wilderness and i need to survive, here are the things I would do it to survive in the wilderness, the basic things I will need are shelter, water, fire, food, safety, navigation and seeking help

In selecting a place for my shelter, I must make sure to select a balanced land free from slop and erosion and must be a safe place too. Then I will have to search for pound, stream or any available source of water around. I can sustain myself with water before being able to get something edible to eat.

To fetch or scope the water, I can make use of big leaves like cocoyam or banana and plantain leaves. If the water I am able to get is not good for drinking, I can gather water from rain or lastly dew. To make fire, I can make use of dry grasses and leaves with any available fire starter from this, I can build a fireplace and get a place to cook my meal if I can get any.

Then I will go in search of food. If foods seems unavailable, I can survive on wild fruits and water till when help will arrive. I will make sure to stay calm ,assess risk and stay hydrated to reserve energy at the same time make move to find a way out if the wilderness.

In an attempt to find a way out, I will leave a mark on any road or route I pass and this I believe can be my compas whetits time to make the big move.

Lastly, I will signal for help either by burning fire signal, by using mirror, shining or reflective objects or by creating a smoke signal.

Truly water, food and shelter are the most important things that one needs when in such a situation. It won't be palatable but survival comes first.
