LOH245: BEING A PEACOCK.

Hello people, welcome to my blog.

As an African, Nigerian in particular, if someone calls or refers to you as an animal, it's one of the greatest insults around here, forgetting the fact that it takes a lot to be an animal. For example, a goat is known for disobedience instead of resilience and a pig is used for refering to someone who is dirty.

From survival to learning to take care of their self to self treatment,to trying to continue their generation or blood line through seriously painful reproduction and being useful to human either as pet, for security, beauty, companionship, to help with human daily routine (work like agriculture) or to be feed on as proteins.

I have been with quite a number of animals as I was growing. From camels to donkeys to horses to goats to pigs, cats, chicken, pigeons, turkey and parrots to mention a few, I can tell you for free that these animals, though of different spices, have one thing in common, and that is the spirit of survival and relentless.

As an individual, if I were to be an animal, I would like to be a peacock. I don't think I have seen any bird that is as beautiful as a peacock. Talk about the spotted feather, the black eye lids, the way it carries its body with total demure while walking around in the garden, the way it moves around freely in the garden without being caged and the way its colour complements the garden especially by the poolside.

Peacocks are believed to be the birds of the rich. Apart from the zoo, another place I have seen a peacock is at the palace and that only shows that the bird is not cheap nor is it common.The peacock's elegance is truly breathtaking and their stunning appearance is characterized by vibrant plumage, eye-spotted feathers,flowing trains,regal demeanor, confident struts and poised.

The peacock's elegance is not just visual,their courtship displays showcase their graceful movements, fearlessly showcasing their plumage and their elegance can be inspired by art, fashion and culture. They often live in small flocks which make me like them more because I like less crowded space, to communicate, peacock makes loud shrill calls occasionally and they fan out their beautiful feathers with few dance steps to showcase their beauty. That can be interpreted to communicating through gesture.

Their feeding habits are simple as they feed mostly on insects and nuts, for shelter, they sleep on tress or elevated places at night which might nean tgat they like to observe their environment even while they are asleep and i am also a light sleeper it makes me fall in love with the creatures the more.

I pray to land the kind of wealth that will make me be able to own a peacock very soon. No i can not get one now because i will not be able to give it the good place to show case it's beauty.

You're right, animals go through a lot and some of their actions is something I think we humans could learn from. The way you described the peacock? Pure poetry. I could literally picture it strutting around like royalty by the poolside. I love how you connected the peacock's personality to your own. May your dream of owning one some day come true

Certainly all these species of animals have that great spirit of survival and perseverance.

Identify yourself with the peacock for its elegance and inspiration in art, fashion and culture, living in small flocks and less crowded spaces, are very valuable characteristics, all reflecting as you say, majesty, security and poise

Peacocks are beautiful birds but they are usually very lonely because of their pride. Peacocks are prideful because if there pretty feathers which no bird has and a fun fact is that only the males which are the peacocks have those beautiful feathers.

The females called peahen don't have pretty feathers.

Can I say that you want to become masculine now ? 😝😝

I see what you mean @elizy my local Children's zoo has a lovely pair of tame peacocks that convey a sense of dignity, awe and beauty to them.
