Friendship and test of time

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog.

It's an honor to be able to write about our experience as an undergraduate, even if some of the events we write about happened years back, writing about them reminds us of our journey, struggle and our history giving us reasons not to give up.

Friendship is a close and supportive relationship between two people that is built on mutual trust, affection, and understanding. It is a bond that goes beyond casual acquaintances, where individuals feel comfortable sharing their opinions, feelings, and experiences with one another.

The key elements in friendship may be many, they include trust, emotional support, mutual understanding, communication and loyalty to mention a few. Types of friends are close friends, casual friends, long distance friends, friends with benefits and many more.

When I was in school, I had a lot of friends but one of them stood and is still standing out till date. My friendship with Mutiat started during our year one second semester when first semester results were released. I was attracted to her by her academic performance at that time.

When I was struggling to maintain a GP of 2.0 she had 4.2. I needed no one to tell me to move closer to her. Being that I saw what I needed in her, I stretched the hands of friendship first. She comes from home while I stayed in an off campus hostel so I get to school early and was usually amongst the few students who get to sit at the front while Mutia comes from home.

She comes late for lectures so she was usually amongst those standing by the podium or peeping through the hall window just to hear or listen to the lecturer's explanation. What I did was to reserve a seat for her before she came. Whenever she gets to the hall before me, she does the same.

Then we started sharing opinions about assignments and I realized how intelligent she is. Sometimes, we do some assignments together over the phone at night using the MTN extra-cool call from 12am to 4:59am, especially during the examination periods, which was our only way to read together.

This beautiful friend of mine got me my second job after graduation and I was really grateful to her. Mutia is presently in business, she sells home and kitchen gadgets and I make sure to refer people to her each time a vendor in her line of business is needed.
