CNF142: APPOINTMENT.

For some times now Teilah my sit mate had been coming late to school. It was not an intentional thing but she just find herself waking up and getting ready for school late. She had to seek help from the school counselor because she was not comfortable with her situation. The counselor shared a story with Teilah to draw lessons from as an assignment against their next metting.

The day was very bright as the sun shone across the room from the horizon announcing the beginning of a new beautiful day. In all this, Lolly was still curled in her bed like a bird to her nest.

May, Lolly's governess was seen talking and running around the room arrangement before the start of a new day. She was trying to make sure everything that Lolly will be needing to get ready for the morning are arranged and put in places where they become handy.

Lolly is a beautiful lady of about nineteen years. Her parents are business tycoons who were barely around as their business makes them travel often. All they do is to provide her with all she needs except for timely advice and reprimanding her whenever she does something wrong.

She had to change nannies like six times before she turned ten. When her last nanny left, May was recommended by a family friend to take the work and interchange as a nanny and a governess to Lolly.

No one could tell the reasons for their immediate bonding. Maybe because of the advanced age of May or her character but the bond they shared is something uncommon. May takes Lolly like a child and Lolly acts like one to her but not without setting boundaries.

Good morning Lolly you need to come have your bath now so you will not be late for your appointment May said across the room to Lolly who does not seem to be ready to leave the bed anytime soon. After seeing that Lolly was not ready to stand up, May had no other option than to disturb her with noise so she resort to playing the piano.

Lolly grumpily gets up from the bed and said good morning May, you know you don't have to do that all the time. May responded saying sorry Miss you leave me with no other option if I don't do that, you may choose to wake up when pigs fly.

Lolly got ready in time for her hospital appointment. She was dressed in a simple royal blue dress with a sky blue embroidery and it soothes her beautiful delicate skin. May took the last look at Lolly's appearance before they left the house and she was satisfied with what she saw, then they stepped out.

At the hospital, the doctor was joking with Lolly saying Miss i can see you are early to your appointment today, Mrs May would have outdone herself to achieve this. Lolly just rolled her eyes and responded accordingly to all the medical questions the doctor asked.

After the appointment, they were going back home when she started a conversation with May saying May i always try to get up early and do things for myself but you know i find myself wanting to sleep more and I feel terrible for going to my appointment, going to classes and to dinner late but I can't just help it.

May calmly responded saying Lolly dear, you can achieve whatever you wish if you put your mind to it and always remember that the journey of a thousand miles starts with a step. All i need from you is determination. Once you put your mind to it, you can achieve it.

After that conversation, Lolly tries everyday to get herself ready in time for her daily schedule and appointment and in no time she gets used to it. This made May's work less difficult and it made them have more learning time together.

Mrs Phillips Lolly's mother saw the improvements in her daughter one time she was around, she was impressed and promised May Lolly's governess a salary raise.

From the story shared by the counselor which Teilah narrated to me, i learnt that you have to be determined before a narrative can be changed and change is a step at a time not magic.
