Wednesday Walk: Getting my 10,000 steps in

It's been another hot, sunny day. I think this is the calm before the storm as the weather is supposed to be changing tomorrow with thunderstorms and light winds forecast. The thought of a storm is quite welcoming as it is too hot at night to get a decent nights sleep.

There's still not many butterflies about. The ones I did see didn't stay still for too long. However, I did spot a comma butterfly on the buddleia bush. These butterflies have distinctive markings, which resemble a comma underneath their wings, hence the name "comma" butterfly. These markings help the butterfly to blend in and avoid predators.

I followed the footpath that took me under a sycamore tree. The sycamore leaves were raining down on me as they spiralled through the air like little helicopters.

Walking past the lido, the water was that clear I could see the carp close to the wall.

There were lots of crows in the air until they settled on the trees. They are known for their distinctive calls, which can be quite noisy at times. For a moment, it was like a scene from Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds' film. Just having a short walk makes you hot and bothered, so bring on the rain!

Wow! You have hot weather while we’re having wet stormy weeks. Flooding occurs in several cities in the north. There is no sunshine in the countryside the whole day and I start to feel cold!

You’re very good with your walking exercise. Beautiful and colourful nature on a sunny day.

I was hoping for rain today, but so far it's still hot. Fingers crossed it will arrive soon.
