Wednesday Walk: A Hot Walk around the Lido
I had a walk around the village lido this morning. We are having another heatwave and the morning is the coolest time to walk. We've had a heron down here for the last week. S/he was standing in a coot's nest. The coot chicks have hatched and they are now swimming in the lake so they haven't got hurt.
It amazes me how still they are as they hunt for fish. It didn't move for ages.
The water is still very low at the moment as we've had little rain. It is funny seeing the Canada geese just stood in the water when normally it would be deep enough for them to swim. I left them to do their preening.
The carbuncle of a restaurant that I objected to being built at the side of a beautiful lido. I've never been inside but I liked the reflection.
I found a lovely painted pebble on the bench. It puts my artistic efforts to shame. I have since rehidden it for someone else to find.
