Village Rambles, Feeding the Birds

The yellow blob in the sky, called the sun, appeared for a whole 10 minutes, which was very nice. Unfortunately, the dark clouds soon covered it again.

I think we are definitely paying for our good summer for a very dull, rainy January and February. However, we can't always allow the weather to dictate when we go out, as you will never go anywhere. With that in mind, I was determined to get my usual 10,000 steps in for the day, so I set off for my walk around the village. Even though there wasn't much sun, there was still a nice reflection of the house and the trees in the nearby lake.

I dropped off some bird seed along the way. As usual, a robin was the first bird to appear.

Not long afterwards, a little dunnock made an appearance. It had no chance with the robin guarding the seed, so I threw some onto the floor for it.

On the way back, the trees looked very picturesque in the distance. At least the grass was benefitting from the rain, as it was a luscious green.

I even spotted a bit of honey fungus (I think), growing on a tree stump.

Just before I reached home, I thought there was a dead dog on the footpath next to the tennis courts. It was a relief when I realised the pooch was just chilling while its owner was playing tennis!
