This is my Entry to the Shadow Hunter's Contest (SMASh) - Round 350

Last week, when the sun finally decided to make an appearance, I took a stroll around my village and the surrounding area. I started at the nature reserve. As I walked along the footpaths, I couldn't help but notice something strange - my shadow! Why does your shadow make you look so much bigger and all out of proportion? Apparently, after a quick google the phenomenon of shadows can make objects appear larger than they really are and is known as the "shadow illusion". It happens because of the light source, which in this case, was the sun, is low in the sky, which can cause shadows to stretch and distort the shape and size of objects. (Ref: Jonath, L. (2020) How Shadows are formed: The Science of Shadows).

This is my entry to the Shadow Hunter's Contest (SMASh) - Round 350.

As I continued my walk, passing by the school field, I presumed a game of football had just taken place. I think the children had gone back into their classrooms and forgot to put the football away. Usually, it comes flying over the railings and hits me on the head!

After that, I walked past the bowling green. The shadow of the railings and the trees created nice patterns on the green grass.

In the end, I realised that sometimes it's good to see things from a different perspective, even if it means looking a lot bigger and all out of proportion!

Thank you to @melinda010100 and the #shadowhunters team for the contest.

These are really cool shadows. All the best in the challenge and thanks for sharing the info about shadow illusion, it's an interesting phenomenon. That explains why our shadows make us appear like huge fellas😅

Haha! It's a good source of Vitamin D and you get shadows too😀 Well at least now we know why our shadows appear like that.😉

Living in the UK, we don't get a lot of sun, that's why I get my vitamin d out of a packet. 😁

Oh! You have been as lazy as me in posting! Too busy and too much to take care of mentally at the moment.

Have a pleasant time and a good rest too.

It took me a trip around the universe of fuzzy thoughts to circle back to blockchain!

Hope the weather is warmer and the coffee shops are still satisfactory and warm.
