The Morning after Storm Goretti

Storm Goretti arrived, bringing snow with it. It snowed for several hours, starting from last night. I decided to get wrapped up and go for a walk and feed the birds. The roads still have snow on them but it's thawing and turning to slush. There's still not much traffic around. People are being sensible. It can be difficult to get in and out of my village when it snows as you have to navigate a hill, whichever way you go.

The children are off school, so a lot are using the opportunity to sledge down the banking onto the cricket pitch.

The holly bush looked especially nice with a bit of snow on it.

The ponds are still frozen over, so I took more food to the birds. It looks like other people have been down there, too.

It looks beautiful after the shower of snow, especially the last two images. We weren't effected by the storm at all being inside the Bristol channel, but looks like the poor folks further down south west took the brunt for everyone

I love a bit of snow, as long as it doesn’t stick around for too long. I think we got off lightly.

Nice atmosphere in the morning. Luckily those birds won’t go hungry on a cold day. Miss the holy bush!
