Sunbathing Starlings
(Edited)
We watched some starlings and their chicks sunbathing on the wall. From reading up on it, it is thought to help them maintain their feathers and regulate their body temperature. Starlings can often be seen on walls, sometimes spreading their wings and soaking up the sun. Source
Starlings often gather together in groups. This helps to strengthen social bonds among the flock.
Even though they are quite common birds in the UK, I think they are quite attractive and very underrated.
We also spotted the parents flying back and forth looking for food. Once the parents have found food, they regurgitate it to feed their waiting young.

Today I saw some sparrows taking a bath in a park and when I saw that I was thinking about you. The black starling has really shiny feathers...
I love watching them having a bath. They're so cute. I fed the birds in my communal garden yesterday. Unfortunately, I must have got my foot caught on a bramble and I went flying through the air, first landing on a plastic flower pot full of weeds. I then carried on and landed in a bush with my legs up in the air! If the flower pot hadn't been plastic, I think I would have really hurt myself. I've just got a bruise on my shoulder. However, my pride is somewhere languishing in the bush. 😁
OMG!! Are you okay!!! Take care of your bruise. I don't know how many times my dog made me fly and fell hard on the ground 🤣, she still tries to escape but I am strong now 😁 finally...
Yes, I'm still alive!
Having a dog does make you stronger. 😁
