I think it is so sad that people dump their pets. I'm always a bit wary of people who don't like animals .... or if animals don't like them!

Yup. I always got upset and angry when seeing abandoned kittens and cats. I could tell straight away if a cat has been abandoned. He appears very lost and sad yet still very friendly and polite. It’s very bad karma to abandoned pets! Very irresponsible and cruel!

In some cases, like mine, it's not about people not liking animals. When I was young, my mom loved cats and dogs, so we had several, including all the ones who took up residence at our home because she was so loving.

It didn't dawn on her in the late 50s that I was allergic. My family just thought I had the sniffles all the time. It wasn't until late teens that I found out I was allergic.

I have asthma, so I get a bit wheezy around 3 cats that I cat sit for. Now my friend only has one, I'm ok.

Unfortunately, there's still a lot of animal cruelty about which is sad.

You are right, animal cruelty is whole different mindset. Cruelty in itself I feel is just another form of control unleashed by unsteady individuals.
