Searching for the Elusive Kingfisher: A Journey Unfulfilled!

On a very cold morning, I decided to visit the local dam. Recently, word had spread that a kingfisher had been sighted there, an opportunity too good to pass up.

Unfortunately, luck wasn't on my side, and the kingfisher didn't make an appearance, so I just took a stroll around.

When the warm weather arrives, the delicate white flowers of wild garlic will begin to bloom along the footpath. I am not particularly fond of the smell of garlic in cooking, but surprisingly, I find that the fragrance of wild garlic is quite pleasant.

Swans are graceful creatures, but they can also be quite aggressive. Their protective instincts kick in when they think their territory is under threat or of their cygnets. It is too early for cygnets, but it won't be long before the swans are nest building. I think it's wise to maintain a safe distance from them.

I quite enjoy looking for benchmarks that are etched onto old gateposts and walls. These marks are important in construction and surveying as they provide accurate reference points for measuring height and ensuring the strength of structures during different phases of building projects.

The Canada geese spend quite a bit of time on land looking for food. The swans have a tendency to chase them off the water as well.

The catkins are starting to emerge, but sleet is now falling. The weather is quite unpredictable at the moment, leaving both nature and me feeling a bit frustrated.
