My Gorge Fungi Friday Finds

(Edited)

The weather was quite good last week as we walked through a local gorge. I'm not going to pretend I know the names of the fungi we spotted as a lot look very similar to me. I think we found winter bonnets, turkey tails, jelly ears and a few others.

Even though the weather was good, it was still quite damp in the gorge. These looked quite fascinating but I must admit their texture looked a bit icky.

These were the tiniest ones I've seen. I'm surprised I spotted them. They were very cute.

I didn't even notice the little one on the top until I saw the photograph.

This one was quite large, and strong enough to put a cup of coffee on it if I was having a picnic in the wood! I really liked the colour of this one.

In the past few days, the weather has turned cold and frosty so I think searching for fungi might be coming to an end soon. I've had a good run, though.

This is my contribution to #fungifriday initiated by @ewkaw.
