Muddy Paws, Happy Dog and Christmas Wishes

It was a bit overcast on my early morning walk with the pooch. It wasn't too cold, though. Someone had left a stick for a passing dog on the gate post with Christmas wishes.

Walking through the stone stile there are lovely views over the fields.

The sun's rays were just beginning to appear through the clouds.

As we went through the wooden gate, I had the idea of walking over the adjoining field. Unfortunately, it was a bit muddy, even around the perimeter. I decided to go back into the wooded area and walk along the bottom of the wood. The ground was a lot firmer, and it was a nicer walk.

There was a flooded area but we easily found a way around it. We then double backed on the footpath that runs at the top of the wood.

There was the odd bracket fungi in the wood.

At the metal 'kissing gate', the pooch found a way of shimmying underneath it. I'm not so nimble!

It was a good ninety minutes walk. We didn't meet one other person while we were out. Time to go and get warmed up.

A wonderful walk through the forest. It looks very autumnal despite the winter. 😀

Thank you. I've started to call it dirty dog walks!
