Goslings, Coots, Swans, Cows and a Rabbit!
I am still taking advantage of the sunny weather as I had a long walk around my village and on the outskirts.
I walked down the country lane noticing that the field in the distance that I would eventually walk through was full of cows. I like cows, but I'm a little nervous about walking through them. They looked as though they were at the far end of the field lying in the sun, so I decided to chance it.
I spotted a little rabbit near the hedge. I made sure it went into the field and not back onto the road.
All year round, the cottage on the left always has a bowl of water for dogs that are passing, which is a nice gesture. We are a village of animal lovers.
I'm glad I decided to carry on as the cows were laid down as I thought. They were enjoying the sunshine.
Down at the village lido the goslings continue to thrive. The Canada geese did originally have six goslings but are now down to four. They've managed to survive another week without any casualties so I've got my fingers crossed that they all stay safe.
The coots also have had four chicks. Their parents were busy feeding them. The little ones were quite demanding.
There were also a couple of cygnets doing a few stretches on the side of the lido. This pair might be the cygnets born here last year who have popped back for a visit
As I returned home I saw Mr. Swan on the other pond across from me keeping other birds away from Mrs. Swan, who was sitting on her nest, nearby.
