A Misty Village Walk

There was a lot of early morning mist today, so I quickly got dressed to take a few photographs. The place was deserted apart from me and one dog walker. There was still a bit of a chill in the air, but we are promised some sun later.

There were a couple of ducks and coots swimming alongside me. The others were hiding in the reeds.

The ducks tend to graze on the grass early morning before going back into the pond. They look for insects to eat.

Some child had accidently left a couple of books on the picnic table, overnight. They were wet through. One was called 'Goose on the Loose'. It was quite appropriate for the village. I left the soggy books on the table, hoping they might dry off later if their owners return.

The mist and the quietness in these shots feel like another world to me. Living in a crowded city in a third-world country, we rarely get the chance to experience such open, peaceful nature. Between the constant noise and the concrete, a 'Goose on the loose' in the fog seems like a dream! Thank you for sharing this beautiful moment of stillness.
