Fungi Friday: Tales from the Forest Floor
I've made a few visits to various woods and forests this week and I found quite a lot of fungi.
I tend to spot fungi on rotting logs, under leaves, some on living trees or just by the roadside. Fungi thrive in different conditions, some prefer damp areas, and others prefer sunny spots. We've had a mixture of sunny and wet weather this past week so I knew I'd find some.
I never touch them as I never know if they are poisonous or not.
I do enjoy seeking them out though, especially the splash of colour of the fly agerics which really stand out in the forest on an overcast morning.
These looked particular cute ...
Overall, it has been a good week for finding fungi. Storm Amy has been forecast to hit the UK today and over the weekend bringing rain and high winds. Hopefully, I will find more next week. I just want a few wet, misty mornings to add a bit of atmosphere.

Thank you. Back in the game!
Nice honey mushrooms and amanitas. Here's an interesting article on how to cook honey mushrooms.
Thank you very much @sketch.and.jam. 🙏
Hmm now that I'm looking at them a bit more I think the first few you found are sulphur tufts, if they have green gills then definitely sulphur tufts Hypholoma fasciculare. Sadly not edible.
I might just stick to taking photos of them. 😁
