From Sunshine to Shivers: A Walk That Went Cold

It’s the first day in a week that there's been a chill in the air. However, signs of spring are here; blossoms are beginning to appear on the trees, with soft pinks and whites.

The daffodils are also beginning to bloom, their bright yellow and white petals bringing a cheerful splash of colour in the park. They may not be my favourite flower, but I appreciate how they brighten up the area.

Nearby, a Canada goose was captivated by a branch next to the lido, pecking at its bark.

Meanwhile, our resident swans have returned to grace the village pond once more. They take flight occasionally, but always seem to find their way back, settling down to nest on the village pond.

I haven’t spotted the visiting pochard in several days. A few months ago, it arrived at the village pond and appeared quite content as it swam alongside the mallards. The last time I saw it, it was engaged in a good scratch. Perhaps it has chosen to continue its journey elsewhere. I will keep my eye open for it, but for now, I am glad to get back into the warmth.

Wow, I envy you for those flowers. The weather is warming up here, but I haven't seen spring flowers yet, or just a few. I guess a week or two is still needed.

That place is lovely btw.

Thank you, @erikah. I think the weather gave us a false sense of security. It's been lovely and warm, but now back to the cold. I can't wait for all the flowers to come out.

It's been lovely and warm, but now back to the cold.

That's the worst. Not only confuses nature and does a lot of harm, people can get sick very easily. We're also praying we won't shovel snow in April, after this warm period.

Lovely atmosphere! Spring has arrived and the birds looked much happier. So nice to have a lovely walk with daffodils and all the swans .
