Embracing the Mud: Walking the Dog in the Wood and Field

It was raining first thing this morning but it tailed off after a while. I made the mistake of popping into the wood in my village with the pooch. I've not been in for ages and I don't think the pooch has been in at all.

Obviously, he found a stick to carry around with. I'm not sure why they have to be so big though.

After a few zoomies in the wood, we entered the side of the field. This is where I realised it was a bit of a mistake coming here as it was quite muddy. It was the type of mud that sticks to your shoes and you end up feeling as though you're carrying a lump of lead around with you. Oh well, the pooch seemed to be enjoying himself.

We walked down to the bottom of the field but then cut back into the wood. I'd also forgot how undulating the footpath is walking back up. It takes a lot of energy trying to keep on your feet as well, as it was so slippy.

It was so cold and my fingers were practically dropping off, even with gloves on. It was time to go home, get warm and scrape the mud off my shoes!
