Coffee at 'The Boatman' Restaurant at Christchurch, UK

After a stroll around the harbourside town of Christchurch in Dorset, UK we called in at 'The Boatman' restaurant. It seemed quite popular as there was a queue to get inside. Dogs weren't allowed inside but we found a good spot on the veranda with a canopy over it. The last time we sat outside there was a sudden downpour of rain and we quickly had to take refuge inside. A lesson learnt.

The restaurant is in a beautiful spot along the River Stour, with lots of boats going up and down the river or just moored up. You definitely know where the money is!

I had looked on their website prior to visiting. It made me laugh when they asked for customers to respectfully not wear baseball caps, sportwear or fancy dress. As I took my batwoman outfit off I decided to order a black americano with a margherita pizza.

I was a bit surprised at how large the pizza was. It was probably enough for two people.

My friend also ordered a black americano with a ham and cheese panini and chips. The food was good and with a little perseverance on my part I managed to eat all of the pizza. I hate leaving food! Illys coffee wasn't the best I've had but it certainly wasn't the worst. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and even though it was quite busy, the staff were friendly and attentive and we definitely couldn't beat the lovely location.

I'm definitely not staring hungrily at your pizza

I always wonder, reading your posts, how you manage to uncover all these wonderful places. You always seem to take us to some unique, beautiful place, and not just a "coffee place". :)

I think it's become a bit of a hobby of mine. The weirder the better! 🙃
