Coffee and my Annual Vehicle Safety Test
It is that time of year again when my car requires its annual MOT test. This is a mandatory test in the UK to make sure your car is roadworthy. Despite knowing that my car is likely to pass, it's always a stressful time until I get that certificate with the word 'pass' on it.
It was throwing it down with rain this morning. As the test takes just under an hour, I usually choose to spend the waiting period in a local café that is situated inside a charity shop to kill time. I had to wait 15 minutes before the shop opened. It was good to finally seek shelter and get warmed up with a nice cup of strong coffee. It wasn't the best coffee I've ever tasted, but it certainly wasn’t the worst. Thankfully, it wasn't long before I dried off.
The café serves a range of drinks and snacks, and the charity shop has a variety of items donated to support the local hospice. I’m not one for eating breakfast, so I just settled on a large americano, although as always, I was very tempted by the cakes.
Many coffee shops sometimes reward their customers. One such reward programme is the coffee card, which allows customers to earn a free cup of coffee after purchasing a certain number of drinks. When customers know they are one cup away from a free drink, they have the incentive to go back. I always appreciate a free cup of coffee.
The only problem with the café being in a charity shop is that I always buy something. I've been de-cluttering at home, but I just couldn't resist these old letterpress printing blocks that someone has framed.
After about an hour in the café, I went to pick my car up, pleased in the knowledge it had passed!
There are already two publications where I read about initiatives on the part of the cafeteria and I think they are great. A free cup of coffee never hurts hahaha 😂

Those coffee reward cards are my favorite thing to collect, I love free coffee 😂... Those letterpress printing blocks are cute; did you make any plans for what to do with them?
They're already framed and I like the patina on them. I'm just going to wipe them down and hang them in the kitchen (on the wall that I've painted). 😁

Without a doubt, coffee shops that care about their customers make people want to come back. That is the idea of a business that many are unaware of and do not take into account.
I really liked the framed typography blocks, I'm sure it will look great wherever you plan to put it.

This reward card is actually a good marketing strategy for every business. It encourages customers for repeat purchases, and at the same time, coffee lovers feel valued. It's somehow funny that, though we can afford a cup of coffee, we always have the anticipation of getting a free one. Haha! Well, it's a win-win situation for the coffee lovers and the cafes.
The marketing strategy definitely works for me. 😆
