Caturday: It's exhausting being a cat ...

Today marks the beginning of my cat-sitting duties while my friend is on holiday. My friend used to have three cats, but sadly, over the past year, she lost two of them due to age and health issues. Ralph was the youngest cat coming from a cat rescue organisation, so he has plenty of years left.

While Ralph is quite independent, he knows he's the last cat standing now and appreciates company even more, although he didn't seem too overwhelmed when I got there. He chose to go and look what was in the store cupboard instead. I know my place.

Here he comes. He loves the camera. He thinks he's on the catwalk.

Thinking about his next move ...

All of his cat food is on the table. He's just checking there's enough for the week.

He then decided to go outside. He returned ten minutes later through the window. I'm guessing it's still too cold.

After a quick play with his cat toy, he retired to bed. It's exhausting being a cat.

Oh! Only one cat left! So sorry for Ralph. He must be glad to see you there looking after him! I hope he’s very friendly and talkative.

He's taking advantage of me. He's in and out all of the time. I think he likes to know I will do everything for him .... which I will of course. 😄

I think that the life of a domestic cat is one of the most beautiful lives to have.
