Beating the Chill: Exercising Outdoors

It was a lovely blue sky this morning, but still quite chilly. We had a little bit of frost last night. I was going out shopping later, so I just nipped to the local country park to get a few steps in. I'm determined to keep fit, even though it's brass monkey weather.

Sometimes, I take a photo just because I like the lines or shape of something. I liked these trees because they looked as though they were forming a guard of honour.

There were lots of shadows on the ground this morning. The sun is really low at the moment and not good to drive in.

Sadly, there aren’t many fungi about now. I've enjoyed looking out for them. I wouldn't dream of eating any of them as I've no idea if they are poisonous or not, but it's a good excuse to get out and see how many varieties you can find. It really has been a good year.

I like the natural way the tree branches form an archway. I did about three laps of the park, got jumped on by about half a dozen dogs wanting to say hello, and nearly run over by a cyclist who forgot he had a bell! It was an interesting morning ....
