Autumn Colours and Birdwatching at the Country Park

It was an overcast morning with a little bit of rain in the air. It was still quite mild, though, as I took a stroll around the Holmebrook Country Park. I went to see the autumnal colours. The walk is around a well maintained lake which has a lot of visiting bird life. The park also has a café, community centre, children's play area, a football pitch, a pétanque bowling green which is a French boules sport. They also do weekly guided walks for people with health issues and most importantly free parking!

There are a couple of wooden bridges in the wooded area that go over a lovely little stream.

This part can get quite muddy in the winter months but it wasn’t too bad this morning.

The magpie was helping itself to the bird food that someone had left on the picnic table. It's very difficult getting too close to magpies as they quickly fly off.

The black headed gulls were all sitting in a row on the wooden fence preening themselves.

The lovely autumn colours didn't disappoint and will only get better in the coming month.
