A Woodland Walk: Mud, Floods, and Me!

My first walk of the day didn't quite go to plan. I was only walking for about ten minutes in Sitches Plantation when I came to a part where it was completely waterlogged. I don't mind getting wet, but the water was too deep. I had no alternative but to go back to the car.

I drove a little further up the road to another wooded area that I know. I followed the footpath, as it can get quite dense in this wood and it's difficult walking on the uneven ground if you don't stick to the footpath. It was a nice, fine morning, but there was still a chill in the air, especially in the middle of the wood.

I stumbled across some fungi but they were all past their best.

Before long, I was once again met with an obstacle. In this case, it was lots of mud, and once again I was thwarted in going further. Although I didn't walk as far as I wanted to, it's always good to get some fresh air. Even a short walk through the woods is better than nothing. With spring on the horizon, the birds are singing, and it won't be long before we have warmer weather. I'm looking forward to the woods coming alive with colour.

Really wonderful shots you took and shared with us.
Thank you very much @termux . 🙏

Thank you @aala.twist. 🙏
It's not nice when we found mood in our walk in the wood especially with dogs, my old dog use to jump in every floody place 🤣
Oh dear. Then you have to go home and clean the dog up! At least it had fun.

The images remind me of my childhood. Sometimes we were herding sheep, sometimes picking mushrooms 🍄🟫... The forests were our home. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure. I would love to live in the forest.
