A Misty Walk into the Abyss

I woke up to another misty morning. I think I actually prefer going for a walk in the mist to walking on summer days. However, I do get fed up of getting wet through. I honestly think my trainers are going to rot off my feet at some point. After parking up, I walked down the wide footpath and into the abyss!

John Carpenter's film, 'The Fog,' popped into my mind. Why is it when you are in a spooky place your brain makes you even more scared by thinking about horror stories??

Normally, I would go on a long walk in this area. The mist was quite dense further down so I decided to stay on the footpath at the top, where I could see better.

The lone tree looking even more eerie in the mist.

I could just make out a couple of dog walkers in the distance.

It had started to rain at this point but nothing new there! I took a circular walk. Sometimes, it was difficult underfoot as some of the route was under water.

The field behind the stone wall was only just visible, enveloped in mist.

There's not a great deal of colour about at the moment, especially today when it was so gloomy, but even in the mist, there were a few colours popping out.

At this point, my fingers were practically dropping off from the cold. A warm house beckoned so I dragged my sodden feet back home.
