A Walk Around McGregor’s Pond Under Grey Skies

I had to drop my car off this morning at the garage, to have its MOT (to make sure it's roadworthy). I had to kill an hour, so I decided to have a walk around McGregor's Pond, which is just up the road. I've not been there for a while. In the winter, it can get really muddy, and today was no different.

There weren't many birds on the water, swans, Canada geese, and goosanders. Some of the birds alternate between the ponds in my village and this one. I had a quick chat with a chap who'd also popped down there with binoculars to see the bird life.

There is a small weir across the nearby stream which controls the water levels. The water was looking particularly angry this morning after how much rain we've had.

Everything looked very dull and brown, but it will look a lot more colourful in the spring.

As usual, there were some nice reflections in the water, even though it was quite dismal and it had started to rain.

After a full circle of the pond, I went back to find my car had passed its MOT!

This somehow reminded me of my long-ago walk in Ukraine. Similar skies
Yes. I do see similarities between the weather and peoples' walks in Ukraine.
Unfortunately, where I live now, it's difficult to walk alone.
Yes, I wondered if you were still in Ukraine?
Unfortunately, not in Ukraine.
