A Stroll through the Nature Reserve
Even this morning, it was so hot as soon as the sun came out. I had a walk around the nature reserve because later on it might be too hot to walk too far. In the distance is the town church, commonly known as the crooked spire. From here you can follow the footpaths and the roads straight into town.
I always see quite a few magpies at the beginning of the walk. Even if I can't see them I can hear them in the trees chattering away.
I also caught sight of the heron hiding in the reeds. The area is too overgrown to get closer to it. Even if I could, herons tend to fly off as soon as they are aware of your presence.
And a train runs through it! The silence at the nature reserve is always spoilt by the trains going past every 15 minutes. There is also a lot of new houses that have been built nearby but I try to ignore those!
There's a little stream where the birds tend to congregate. Even when there's no birds to photograph I like the different shades and colours of the scenery.
I only did a small, circular walk, but even though it was a lovely morning, I wanted to get home and into the shade.
Wonderful photos of this reserve ❤️❤️
