A Morning Visit to the Host Café

We popped into a coffee shop today called 'Host'. It was quite early on in the morning so we were the first in there. If it was mid morning to lunchtime it would be packed. That's good for business but as a customer it can get quite noisy and difficult to hear people speak.

As the coffee shop is relatively new, the decor is very modern. It isn't the most trendiest of towns but there has been a lot of redevelopment over the past few years so things are improving. It also helps that the small town has free parking at the back of the café which is very rare these days. It is the perfect way of getting people to visit instead of expecting them to pay high car parking fees. It also has a level entrance with just a slight lip so wheelchair users can get in.

I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. My friend had the same but in a takeaway cup because it keeps the coffee hot. The coffee was quite strong, just the way I like it. We didn't have any food this morning as we didn't have much time. I have heard from other people that the food is excellent with a good range of hot and cold beverages. Alcoholic drinks are also available but far too early for me!

I liked the framed photo on the wall, "ey up, duck" which in my area is a friendly greeting meaning "hello".

The coffee shop has done so well since it has opened that they've opened another one in the neighbouring town. A lot of businesses fail in the first few years but this has been a success story.
