A Morning at the Country Park and Behond
Today, I visited a local country park. For once, the sun graced us with its presence. The mild weather was a nice change from the often dreary conditions we’ve been experiencing lately.
As I strolled around the park, I noticed the signs of spring beginning to emerge. Winter is beginning to lose its grip on the environment, as the catkins have made an appearance.
Further around the park, a shallow makeshift pond has recently been created. This pond helps slow down the flow of water that runs off the park during heavy rainfall. It has been flooding the nearby areas, including a brook along the bottom of the park. The pond acts as a buffer, capturing and slowing down excessive rain water. It certainly helps keep the footpath clear of water, and I'm sure I will see the odd duck on there at some point.
After completing my walk around the park, I decided to stop by one of the village lakes. While at the lake, I took some time to feed the birds that were gathered there.
I noticed that all the Canada geese were standing in a neat line, as if they knew that food was about. It was a refreshing change to enjoy a walk without the concerns of getting wet or muddy. Long may it continue!
Glad to see the sun is out and the cold is going away little by little.
A nice walk in the refreshing morning atmosphere in nature. I should go walking along narrow lanes in the city to burn some calories.
The sun didn't lasted long. 🌨☂️
