A Misty Mooch in the Wood

This morning, I decided to have a walk through Farley Wood. I've not been there for a couple of years. Even though it was fine in my village, the further I drove into the countryside the more misty it became. I do like a misty walk but not to drive in. I managed to park in a little layby at the side of the entrance to the wood.

I turned right and followed the narrow footpath through the trees.

The air smelled very earthy and the mist made everything seem a bit creepy. I found myself looking back several times to make sure I was alone. You can never be too careful while out on your own.

The trees looked colourful in their autumn leaves. It was a perfect, peaceful morning. It wasn't long before I got on to a wider gravelled path. I could see a lot further into the distance and behind, which was good.

The dampness made all the spider's webs stand out even more, which was helpful because you could easily inadvertently walk through them.

I was tempted to go into this part of the wood but thought I'd never find my way out!

It became a little boggy underfoot here. I've been fairly lucky so far in keeping my feet dry.

I did a circular walk, and I must confess I did get slightly lost but I lived to tell the tale!
