A Lovely Misty Morning Walk

On my usual early morning walk I was surprised at the mist in the foreground. It was clear as crystal in my own village but 15 minutes from my home mist hung in the air.

I noticed other photographers were all out doing a bit of mist chasing.

I've only been here once before but I decided to do a different route this morning and go into the middle of the woods. It's really popular here because it's the start of various walks over the moorland area. You can walk for miles and miles.

It's really beautiful this time of year with all the different colours, yellow, gold, red and green.

I thought there would be more fungi around but it was relatively dry in the woods. I spotted the odd fly ageric but most were past their sell by date.

Someone had made a wooden footbridge across the little stream. I didn't have a clue as to where this path would lead me. At the bottom it became really boggy and the footpath seemed to disappear. It was at this point I decided it was better to go back. I wasn't looking forward to going back uphill.

It got quite dark but the sunlight was just trying to come through the trees. As I reached the top I decided I wasn't ready to go home so I just followed the path that I'd walked the first time I came here.

Annoyingly, I found more fungi. If only I'd have taken this route in the first place.

Once I got to the wooden gate I decided that this was as far as I was going.

Instead of double backing through the woods I walked up the cart track. The intricate spider's webs shone in the sun.

A couple of mountain bikers went past me. They had to go up onto higher ground to avoid this flooded area. I would have been tempted to drive straight through it!

I mentioned at the beginning how popular this place is but even I was surprised at how many cars had arrived since I got here.
