A Little Stroll Around the Queen's Park

I popped down to our local Queen's Park that was opened in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. Source Ironically, I came out to avoid our present King's Coronation that was taking place today.

Not being a royalist, I found all the pomp and pageantry a bit too much. I'd much rather be getting wet in the rain, walking around the park looking at the lovely tree blossom!

Not many people had braved the rain, so it was really nice having the place to myself.

The centre of the cricket pitch had been covered up to stop it getting waterlogged. No cricket today.

Yet more lost property. Not sure how you can forget your cycling helmet.

The tulips were in full bloom, and the park looked really nice, even by now it was raining hard. The gardeners seem to maintain it very well and there was hardly any litter about.

I've always liked this piece of graffiti art under the bridge. Unfortunately, it has been defaced but it still looks good.

It's not a very big park, so it didn't take me long to do a full circuit. There was only one thing to do on a rainy day, and that's to have an ice cream!

The park is beautiful and well kept, full of trees that are blossoming with the spring season. The nice graffiti art perfectly matches with the background :)
Great picture shots!
