A Forage for Twigs, Free Secateurs and a Christmas Decoration!

I had a pre Christmas dog walk with someone I used to work with. She is having a new roof put on her house so there's lots of scaffolding around. Unfortunately, this means there's no room for an outside Christmas tree. My friend appeared with a pair of secateurs, which is always a scary look! She was going to forage for a few small twigs that she could decorate with fairy lights, for the inside of her house. This will compensate for the lack of a tree outside. We found some willow twigs on the floor so we cut a few sprigs off. When we got back to her house I told her husband I liked the secateurs as they were a lot sharper than mine. He insisted I have them and he would buy some more. It was very kind of him and it inspired me to go off and find my own twigs to decorate. Once I got home I went over to me local park and came back with some twigs.

I have a craft board at home that I paint on. It is very multi coloured now but it does the job. I only live in a small flat, so I don't have a lot of room. I ended up placing the craft board over the kitchen sink!

I tied the twigs together with some green string. I'd already got some spray paint so I settled on a red colour. I found some old fairy lights and decorations. It looked really good in the end. It just shows that you don't have to spend much on decorations. I think home-made ones look better. After our recent conversation @priyanarc, I hope you like it. 😁

The idea is really good and looks really nice...A few days ago, I saw some twigs and decorations in the open market, and they cost a lot. I thought then if I find something outside, I am gonna collect them because in the end, it's about how uniquely and creatively you can create something instead of spending money...Love the idea and decor...Fairy lights always create a good vibe...
Go for it. To cut costs, you don't have to paint the twigs. Fairy lights are very cheap here. It didn’t take me long at all.
Beautiful work! I love the idea of making decorations with natural resources.
Best regards!
Me too! Thank you @samuell12. 🙏
