Brrrrrr 🥶……..My Actifit Report Card: February 4 2025

Brrrrr!🥶 The wind is still a’blowin and it’s still cold here! Wind chill has been as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit to 14 above zero Fahrenheit! I woke up this morning to find @silvertop had built a fire AND turned on the mini split at the same time because it was so cold in the house! Crazy!

So it was another cold and windy day here in the PNW! The sun was around but there wasn’t much warmth to be had from it! I had some things to do around the house since ladies Bible study had been canceled.

@silvertop topped up the wood inside and I manned the wood stove.

Early this morning before I’d even made it out of bed, my coworker text me to say she was snowed in. She lives in Bellingham. I’d noticed yesterday the alarm system was never disarmed yesterday so I know she didn’t go in that day either. She said that the doc was supposed to let me know which he didn’t. I figure he knows how hilly it is here and didn’t bother to ask. I didn’t go in. It was probably a wise choice given the lead in picture to @silvertop’s post tonight! That sheet of ice visible in his photo is under the snow on the two roads I have to get to in order to get to the valley. There is no road maintenance on our road or the second one out, so it’s literally an ice skating rink! No job is worth my life nor my car, so home I stayed!

That first picture is the intersection of our road and North Pass. Snowy and icy!

This is North Pass looking towards where I would need to go heading towards Everson.

Here is same road but the other direction.

All of the drop offs which are difficult to see in the pictures, have no guardrails and some of them are a good 20+ feet down!

Needless to say, I’m not looking forward to my drive in the morning!

Since I can access my office software from home, I decided to log on and print what insurance I could since I’m going to also have to do reminder calls in the morning since they didn’t happen today. My network here at home went down and I spent a frustrated 45+ minutes trying to get it working again. After a couple of resets, it eventually began working again. 🙄 An aggravation I didn’t need!

Cot and Cyle both know what to do when it’s cold! Both zonk out and get ‘drunk’ on fire! 😻
