Wrap gown decorated with bead and pearl

avatar

Hi everyone. You are welcome to my blog

It's good to be back here again and hope you are having a wonderful day

Once in a while my fashion tutor gives us something to work on, she makes hers first and tell us to make ours too by following the same process. Everyone is allowed to choose their own style but the design we made on this particular one is with the use of pearl and bead.

She did us the favour of buying the pearl and bead for us from the market, so we can share amongst ourselves and the prices reduced since it was in bulk. I chose my style which is the wrap gown.

Wrap gown has been in style for long and I love it because it is stylish, easy to wear and comfortable, as the name implies it can be wrapped

I will take you through the process of how I made the wrap gown with the design.

Procedure

Folding the ankara fabric into four to cut the front and back. There is no zip so there should be allowance to serve as the opening in front. I cut out the neck for the back which is round, while the front is in form of v-shape and 7 and half inches(this length is based on individual's preference), this shape will form through the wrapping, this is different from a kimono because it must overlap(that is one side covering the other).

The burst 34, waist 27 and hip 36 taken into consideration with allowance (divided by 4)

I made the sleeve to be a straight one, I will added elastic at the wrist

Step by step sewing

  1. Fixing the linen to the cloth
  2. Sewing the shoulder and side taking note of allowance to the burst, waist and hip, not forgetting the rope to aid the wrap(this depends on choice, some may not put it, I prefer mine with it)
  3. Sewing in sleeve

Arranging the pearl and bead

  1. Insert thread into the hand needle, making sure it is not too long to avoid tangling, so that it won't give stress.

  2. Place the pearl on the desired spot (I put mine on the neck region)

  3. Count the desired number of beads you want to add. (I added 7). Then arrange it so it enters the thread and put it in the hole of the pearl to attach it.

Hello, how are you? Greetings from Venezuela.

I really liked your cross dress model, the truth is that it must be very comfortable. I don't know the name of the fabric, but I guess it's like satin because it looks very fresh.

The leaves are very pretty, here we call them sequins, I loved what you did with them and the beads.

Nice work. 🙋☺️👋

Beading is a very lucrative hand work in this part of the world, I hope you learn more of it, you won't regret. You did a very good job on this one, welcome dear.
