Different skies, same Thoughts - from Lagos to SoCal.
I’ve never been to California before, but somehow, I feel connected to it. Maybe it’s the way people talk about the vibe, the weather, or the sunshine that makes you want to go outside and create. I’m writing from Lagos, Nigeria, and today, the sky told a full story by itself.
This morning, the sun came up too bright. Not just regular bright, I mean that kind that feels like it's burning through the curtains. Later in the afternoon, I looked up again and noticed the clouds had changed.
A faint moon was just sitting there, like it was waiting for the right time to take over. Then, by evening, the whole sky turned dark like it was about to pour rain. But it didn’t. Just stayed there heavy, like a storm that changed its mind.
It made me think about how much can happen in a day. And how the sky above us may look different, but we all go through the same shifts. Calm mornings, overwhelming afternoons, and quiet nights. I imagine SoCal having those same kind of moments too, just with a different kind of air.
I know this might not be the usual kind of post here, especially since I’m not based in California, but I wanted to share how we can all find pieces of each other even from far away. Sometimes all it takes is looking up.
This is actually my first post in the SoCal community, and I hope it’s okay for me to share something this simple and natural. I’ve seen some beautiful posts from this community and thought maybe it’s time I stepped in with my own thoughts too.
