Urban flight/ Vuelo urbano// My Entry to Show me a Photo Contest (EN-ES)

Greetings, my dear friends, I thank @nelinoeva for her invitation to the Show me a Photo Contest because it gave me the perfect excuse to observe and photograph the flight of birds that pass near my house.

I live in Camagüey, an area of ​​Cuba with wetlands and protected areas that serve as feeding and resting places for some migratory birds such as ducks, geese, and herons. But I live in the middle of the city, so it's not common for me to enjoy those wonderful migration parades. On the other hand, pigeon fanciers abound in the surrounding area, and it's not unusual to see their respective flocks flying over our streets, guided by the voices, whistles, and shrill flags of the trainers.

Every morning and every evening, respecting the established schedules for owners and flocks, the spectacle begins. The neighborhood children already await it; they have their favorite flocks, they know the most famous pigeons for their colors, and they enjoy the flight with all the enthusiasm of their young years.

It was quite a challenge to photograph them in flight, with the power and telephone lines getting in the way, but it was so beautiful to see that it was totally worth the effort.

Saludos, mis queridos, agradezco a @nelinoeva por su convocatoria al Concurso Enséñame una foto pues me dio la excusa perfecta para observar y fotografiar el vuelo de las aves que pasan cerca de casa.

Vivo en Camagüey, una zona de Cuba con humedales y áreas protegidas que sirven de comedero y descanso a algunas aves migratorias como patos, ganzos y garzas; pero yo vivo en plena ciudad, así que no es común que disfrute de esos maravillosos desfiles de migración.

En cambio abundan en los alrededores los colombófilos y no es extraño ver sus respectivas bandadas sobrevolando nuestras calles, guiadas por las voces, chiflidos y banderines chillones de los entrenadores.

Cada mañana y cada tarde, respetando los horarios establecidos para dueños y bandadas, comienza el espectáculo. Los niños del barrio ya lo esperan, tienen sus bandadas favoritas, conocen a las palomas más famosas por sus colores y disfrutan el vuelo con todo el entusiasmo de sus cortos años.

Fue todo un desafío tomarles fotografías en pleno vuelo, con los cables de electricidad y telefonía interponiéndose en las tomas, pero era tan hermoso de ver que valió totalmente el esfuerzo.
