Welcome, friends, thank you for not passing by because I would like to share this reflection with you.
A few days ago, while searching for information for a post on this community, I learned that the striking tree I've always called the flamboyant or flamboyan, and which I've been photographing for weeks, is also known as the red jacaranda. I immediately fell in love with that poetic name because it fits this story so well.
Since I was little, I'd heard the saying that "marriage is like the flamboyant: all flowers at first, then all seeds," alluding in this popular metaphor to the initial romance versus disappointment and eventual divorce.
I grew up with that belief, and many of the marriages I saw around me seemed to confirm it. Then I had to go through the experience on my own, and unfortunately, I also suffered from "the problems."
But time doesn't pass for nothing if we learn from mistakes, persist in improving our environment, and, above all, work on ourselves.
In my current marriage, I've had a different experience. There were many "issues" that we learned to deal with on both sides early in the relationship, but they have yielded to the push of a beautiful and inevitable flowering.
Then I realized that perhaps my elders had begun to appreciate the reverse of the flamboyant cycle. That this tree wasn't an emblem of failure but of the conscious and united effort of two people committed to growing together and summoning spring.
Now, look at the photos again and allow the jacaranda to tell you a different story than the one my grandparents told me.
I leave you with a hug and my best wishes.
