I was recently walking through the oldest and most beautiful streets of my legendary Camagüey.

I found many elements from the colonial and neocolonial eras that still exist in the city, often unnoticed by us citizens as we pass by. Perhaps precisely because they seem so alien to this time, to the garish colors of plastic and acrylic.

It occurred to me that a city with so much history, so much class, and heritage should be seen, at least occasionally, in its original colors, those whites, grays, and blacks of our grandparents' daguerreotypes.
