Do you have heartwarming memories or hilarious mishaps, or do you prefer to let it pass without fanfare? Share your thoughts — what makes this day special for you, or why would you rather fast-forward through it?

I do have one heartwarming memory of Valentine's, although it is a long time ago but I think that is the first and has been the last time I was conscious or intentional about Valentine ever since then, it has never been a big deal to me, not that I don't love to see people celebrate it, I mean I love to see the light in people's eye when they talk about their Valentine tale stories but I have never been conscious about it.

So, my one-time Valentine's memory happened with my first crush back when I was young, I can not remember the year but that particular date had to enter during the days we had school running, while I sat and watched those who had school lovers and valentine partners exchange gifts and had done all that they needed to do, I was lonely and didn't have plans of my own because I had nobody.

I got back home, took my bath, and ate what my mom prepared that day, and after resting, I decided to step out of the house because I was becoming bored of staying home, and also visit my girlfriend at least she was still available until her boyfriend decides to take her out.

When I got to her place, we got talking, then, she came up with the idea that we both stroll out of the house to see the others, when we got to the other of my girlfriends, I was left astonished, with my jaw open.

There sat my crush, wearing a matching outfit like mine. I mean both of us had a crush on ourselves but we never told each other our thoughts or explained the feelings we had for each other, immediately I saw him sitting, and I just couldn't explain how I was feeling. My friend saw I was reacting after seeing my crush and immediately started laughing at my shy attitude all of a sudden and pushed me towards where he was standing waiting for me.

Apparently, my friend knew he was going to be there because they both planned the surprise meeting, so I went towards him as he handed me a surprise-wrapped gift and wished me a Happy Valentine's Day then, we started chatting and I was mesmerized by the connection and bond we both shared. I feel more deeply in love with this dude but unfortunately, our relationship ended abruptly but notwithstanding, I cherished that memory so much because it was the first and last memory I have about Valentine Day.

Without a doubt there was a nice connection, sometimes those nice occasions happen, which lately didn't work out in the long run. Very successful @eliany

Sin duda alguna hubo una bonita conexión, a veces se dan esas bonitas ocasiones, que últimamente no funcionó a la larga. Muchísimo éxito

Your story is a beautiful reminder that Valentine's Day isn't about grand gestures or expensive gifts.

It's about the connections we make and the unexpected moments that touch our hearts.

Your initial loneliness turning into a surprise encounter with your crush, orchestrated by your friend, is pure magic!

I love how your friend played cupid and brought you together, knowing the feelings you both harbored. It's a testament to true friendship.

Even though your relationship ended, it's clear that the memory holds a special place in your heart.

It's a reminder that love can blossom in unexpected ways, and sometimes the simplest gestures can create lasting memories.

that is so sweet, I must say. Your friend is indeed a thoughtful one who likes to get for her friend what she wants even if she's shy to get it ....wee need more like her, don't you think?
