Visiting the London Tower

Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you have a great week! Today I would like to share a new article about one of my travel experiences and I am happy if you can learn new things and appreciate my effort.

One of the best things I made in London was a visit to the famous Tower of London which is located in the centre of the city and is associated with a long history. This place is considered one of the most impressive buildings of the country, which was originally built as a fortress, but the purpose has changed again and again in the course of history and for some time it served as a residence for the royal family while at other times it was also used to store weapons or other important things that were important for the existence of power. London Tower is considered a symbol of England's influence and was not without reason declared as World Heritage Site during the 20th century. The visitors can count on an amazingly large collection of crown jewels and there are also some museums to explore here and one of them revolves around different types of animals and the focus here is especially on the raven which according to legends is considered a protector of the terrain and one of the biggest attractions are probably also the living ravens which can be seen here.

A large part of the collection also consists of armour and weapons and here there is an enormous collection of art of the gunsmiths to discover and the special thing is that this collection is partly even interactive and and also here you can learn how the weapon systems have changed over the centuries and how swords are built today. What few do not know is that also coins have been produced here for the entire country for many years, but it is also referred to by some people as a place of misfortune because people have been tortured or even imprisoned here at certain times. Similar to other English fortresses, there are numerous haunting stories or other legends of beings who are supposed to live here and for some time even exotic animals lived here, which is why it was used as a zoo.

I tried to be one of the first visitors and the fact that I was already there shortly before the opening was a very good decision to escape the enormous rush of visitors, but I have to say that this was not as large as I was there anyway. Roughly estimated, I spent half a day there and also used my time sensibly to look at everything and at the beginning I can only recommend every visitor to make a plan or photograph the map that hangs everywhere on the site in order not to miss important places within the fortress. Photos may be taken in most places, but I would like to point out again that in the place where the crown jewels are stored it is not allowed and there are partly treasures stored here which not only serve a historical purpose, but are partly still used for ceremonies.

A large part of the fortress is located inside and this activity can also be well suited for rainy days, but it's important to note that the entrance is a bit more expensive, but for everything that is offered, 35 pounds are still in a normal radius and in general in London the sights are more expensive than in other cities and the price of London Tower is comparatively in a normal area. Everyone who is in London should not miss visiting this special place and it is perfect for a half-day trip and as already mentioned above, it can be worthwhile in any case to be one of the first visitors to avoid this enormous rush of people.

Yes, the Tower of London is definitely worth a visit in my opinion. I have been there a few years ago and really loved it.
Although it's probably most famous for the crown jewels, there's a lot of other stuff to see as well there.
I actually found some of the other exhibits even more interesting.

I see it that way too because there is so much to see. A visit can also be very well connected with the Tower Bridge which is right next door. Happy that we share this experience :)

What an awesome place you had a chance to visit. You can't go to London without seeing the Tower of London. There is so much to see, I haven't been there in a very long time, but I remember loving it! I love such old and historic buildings, even if there was some bad history as well as good. Most of Europe and the world is that way to be honest. The English just kept better records! lol

Awesome post!
