Hi friends.
I'm happy to be participating again in this beloved community's weekly challenge on the very day of my fourth anniversary at Hive.
After several weeks of being unable to do so, and first sending my sincere condolences to our judge for the loss of her mother, I will answer the questions she kindly posed.

1️⃣ Whether your mom is with us in person or in spirit, what is/was your plan to celebrate Mother's Day this year?

Every year, my sisters plan a special meal for Mother's Day. Sometimes they prepare soup, other times a barbecue, fish, or pasticho, along with some dessert.
We also exchange souvenirs, and the main character is, of course, my mom.

Although cooking, especially for a large group, is a labor of labor, Mom enjoys it a lot and shows off her expertise in preparing the traditional treats for special occasions.
This year was truly different because we didn't have electricity to light the stove, and we had to fry fish over wood using a portable grill.

Everything went perfectly. My children also helped out and gave me candy.
My sisters gave me personal care items and accessories.

We all ended the day enjoying a gentle afternoon rain, satisfied with having paid a simple tribute to the being who brought us into the world and cared for us with love.

2️⃣ Caring for an elderly parent can be a joy and, at the same time, a challenge. What obstacles did you encounter, and how did you and your family overcome them?

Caring for our elderly parents gives us the satisfaction of being able to repay them for the care they showed us since we were children.
This should be the guiding light that gives us strength and motivation to face the difficulties that this entails. We must maintain a close and sincere relationship with God, who can help us bear fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Unconditional love, love for God and others, manifested in acts of service and compassion. Galatians 5:22-23,

A pesar de que la cocina, sobre todo si se hace para muchas personas, es una labor ardua, mamá la disfruta mucho y se luce con su experiencia elaborando las delicias acostumbradas en fechas especiales.
Esté año fué realmente diferente pues no teníamos electricidad para encender la cocina y tuvimos que freír pescado a la leña con ayuda de una partillera portátil.

Todo quedó a pedir de boca, mis hijos también participaron ayudando y me regalaron dulces.
Mis hermanas me obsequiaron artículos de cuidado personal y accesorios.

Todos finalizamos el día disfrutando de una suave lluvia vespertina y satisfechos de haberles hecho un sencillo homenaje al ser que nos trajo al mundo y nos cuidó con amor.

Cuidar a nuestros padres ancianos nos da la satisfacción de poder retribuirles los cuidados que tuvieron para con nosotros desde que eramos pequeños.
