My entry to the Phone Photography Contest, #78 [En-Es] A red peacock on my arm

Hello friends.
Sometimes wonderful things happen when you least expect them.

Hola amigos.
A veces cosas maravillosas suceden cuando menos las estás esperando.

During my morning walk in the garden, I sometimes see butterflies in strange poses. A few days ago, very early in the morning, I found one of them with its wings closed and its head pointing down.

Durante mi caminata matutina por el jardín, a veces veo mariposas en poses raras. Hace días, muy temprano, encontré a una de ellas con las alas cerradas y cabeza hacia abajo.

Since it's abundant here and I've photographed it many times, I continued walking in the other direction.

Como es abundante aquí y la he fotografiado muchas veces, seguí caminando hacia otro lado.

I soon had to stop because a similar one landed on me. Perhaps it was the same one I'd seen seconds before.

Pronto tuve que detenerme porque posó sobre mí una igual. Quizá sería la misma que había visto segundos antes.

I waited about a minute so as not to scare it away and took several photos, some with my cell phone magnifying glass.

Esperé alrededor de un minuto para no espantarla y tomé varias fotos, algunas con la lupa del celular.

About a minute later it flew off and landed for a while on some nearby plants with its wings spread.

Alrededor de un minuto después voló y posó otro rato en unas plantas cercanas con las alas abiertas.

It is an Anartia amathea, a species that I never tire of admiring for its color, even though it is very common.

Es una Anartia amathea, especie que no me canso de admirar por su colorido, a pesar de que es muy común.

Perhaps they don't fear us precisely because they are born and die in the plants in our yard.

Tal vez ellas no nos teman precisamente porque nacen y mueren en las plantas de nuestro patio.

A butterfly landing on someone isn't that uncommon, but it has important spiritual significance in some cultures.

El que una mariposa pose sobre alguien no es algo tan raro, pero tiene un importante significado espiritual en algunas culturas.

Just like when I find a new species, this event brightened my day.

Al igual que cuando encuentro alguna especie nueva, este evento me alegró el día.
