[EnEs] The pineapple

Hello friends of this lovely community.

Hola amigos de esta bonita comunidad.

I've been collecting the crowns of the pineapples we buy and eat at home for a long time. I put them in water, wait for them to root, and then plant them. I'd never seen how the fruit formed on the plant, not even in photos, and I'd almost given up on preserving them because of how long they take to grow and flourish according to what I was able to research.

Llevo mucho tiempo colectando las coronas de las piñas que compramos y comemos en casa. Las meto en agua, espero que echen raices y siembro. Yo nunca había visto como se formaba la fruta en la planta, ni siquiera en fotos, y casi había desistido de conservarlas por el tiempo que tardan en crecer y florecer según lo que pude investigar.

That's why the morning I discovered an inflorescence in the middle of one, planted in a pot, surprised me and filled me with joy.

Por eso la mañana que descubrí una inflorescencia en medio de una, sembrada en maceta, me sorprendió y llenó de alegría.

I attributed it to a miracle from God.

Lo atribuí a un milagro de Dios.

In a matter of days it grew but reached the weight of a small pineapple.

El cuestión de dias creció pero solo alcanzó el peso de una piña pequeña.

As it ripened, I wished it would stay that way, but I knew it was impossible and that, in fact, it might spoil. So I did something special before cutting it: I took lots of pictures and drew it.

Al madurar deseé que se conservara asi pero sabía que era imposible y que, más bien, podía dañarse. Entonces hice algo especial antes de picarla: tomarle muchas fotos y dibujarla.

I'll show you how I did it:

I used a medium-sized drawing pad, HB No. 2 pencil, colored pencils, eraser, and pencil sharpener.

Utilicé un Block mediano de dibujo, lapiz HB N°2, lápices de colores, borrador y sacapuntas.

Using a number 2 HB pencil, make a sketch....

Con el lápiz Hb número 2 realice un bosquejo....

tracing the outline of the silhouette and details....,

trazando márgenes de la silueta y detalles....,

I used the pencils to color, to blend...

Con los lápices fui coloreando, difuminando....

adding and removing layers of color.

agregando y quitando capas de color.

And, not being entirely satisfied, I ended it.

y, sin estar del todo satisfecha, lo di por terminado.
