Knitting yarns in white, yellow, red, and brown.
Size 0 crochet hook

Sequins and beads for the eyes

How did I make it?
I closed a chain (ch) of 6 stitches in a circle and worked 16 double crochets (dc) over it, closing with a slip stitch (sl st).


Como la hice?.
Cerré en circulo una cadeneta (cad) de 6 puntos y tejí sobre ella 16 puntos altos (pa), cerrando con punto raso (pr).

I continued increasing with dc on the second round until I reached 32 dc.


Continué haciéndo aumentos con pa en la segunda vuelta hasta llegar a 32 pa.

I then made a third incomplete round of dc, also with increases, reaching 40 dc.

For the chicken's head I made two more rows: 7 dc over 5 stitches from the previous row, with two increases and, changing the direction, 7 dc closed together.

I sewed a sequin with a seed bead to make the eye.

I repeated this to make another identical piece and joined the two together by crocheting sc around the edge with brown yarn, leaving an opening at the top. I also made the tail with five ch-5 arches and a chain of 50 stitches closed in the middle to use as a closure and handle.


Repetí para hacer otra pieza igual y uní ambas tejiendo pb en el contorno con hilo marrón y dejando una abertura en la parte de arriba. Hice además la cola con 5 arcos de 5 cad y una cadeneta de 50 puntos cerrada en el medio para usarla como cierre y asa.


I crocheted the beak with two rounds of single crochet and embroidered a circle with yellow yarn. I made the crests with red yarn, crocheting 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, and 1 sc consecutively for each one. I embroidered a red detail in the middle of the circle.


Tejí el pico con dos vueltas de puntos bajos y bordé un círculo con hilo amarillo. Hice las crestas con hilo rojo tejiendo para cada una 1 pb, 1 mpa, 1 pa, 1mpa y 1pb consecutivamente. Bordé un detalle rojo en medio del círculo.

I also made a yellow base with 3 rows of dc in the shape of a nest and sewed it with a blunt needle under the hen.
