[En-Es] Colobura dirce

A few days ago I had a golden opportunity. A "zebra of the yarumo" butterfly entered the corridor and landed on a tablecloth, just centimeters away from me.

Hace pocos días tuve una oportunidad de oro. Una mariposa "cebra del yarumo" entró al corredor y posó sobre el mantel de una mesa, a pocos centímetros de mi.

Apparently, it came in fleeing a strong breeze, typical of this time of year.

Al parecer entró huyendo de una fuerte brisa, típica de esta época del año.

It is a medium-sized butterfly species that inhabits Central América, South America and the Caribbean. It has a wingspan of around 3 centimeters, belongs to the Nymphalidae family, and its larvae feed on Cecropias.

Es de una especie de mariposa mediana que habita Centroamérica, Sudamérica y el Caribe. Mide alrededor de 3 centímetros de envergadura, pertenece a la familia Nymphalidae y sus larvas se alimentan de Cecropias.

I had seen her before perched on fallen leaves, perhaps attracted by the scent of loquats from a nearby tree.

La había visto antes posando sobre hojarascas, tal vez atraída por el olor a nísperos de un árbol cercano.

It has dark stripes on its underside that resemble those of a zebra, hence its common name. It also has blue and orange spots and something resembling small ocelli.
On its back, it is dark brown with yellow stripes.

Tiene líneas oscuras en la cara ventral que semejan las de una cebra, de alli su nombre común. Tambien presenta manchas azules, naranja y algo parecido a ocelos pequeños.
En el lado dorsal tienen color marrón oscuro con franjas amarillas.

It always poses with its wings folded and its head down, perhaps deceiving predators with extensions that make it appear to have another head.

Siempre posa con las alas plegadas y la cabeza hacia abajo, tal vez engañando a depredadores con extensiones que hacen parecer que tiene otra cabeza.

Its scientific name is Colobura dirce and is also known as "Papilio dirce".

Su nombre científico es Colobura dirce y también es conocida como "Papilio dirce".

This happened two days almost in a row, and I think maybe the colorful tablecloth attracted her too.

Esto pasó dos días casi seguidos y creo que también tal vez el colorido del mantel la haya atraído.
